Got up today determined to get myself a job. My phone after many many many attempts to connect to the Bell network *mimes doing a rain dance and gets in the prayer position* fiiiiiinally decided to work after I restored it to its factory settings.
After turning my eyes square staring at the computer screen and applying online for the myriad of "unforgettable opportunities" that required me to say why I specifically wanted this job and how I was specifically tailored to suit this position... over...and over...and over again, I decided to start handing out my resume in person.
It was about 2pm and seeing as it is a Monday there are a lot of shops that aren't open so i wasn't very successful in handing anything out. I did manage to apply for the Gladstone (http://www.gladstonehotel.com/) and the Drake (http://www.thedrakehotel.ca/). I would really like to work for the Drake because it looks like I could actually get some culture from it and it wouldn't steal my soul like some other jobs can and do (I am not mentioning BWS because I spent some happy happy years there.. not mentioning it...definitely not...happy...very happy memories...*reaches for the knife*).
So that's today, tomorrow is another big day of applications and hopefully some replies to the online applications, I do have an interview for a 24hr restaurant on Wednesday which i will probably get, but after getting some good advice, i may not take it.
Tomorrow is also the day for my very first experience of Kangoo (http://www.kangoojumps.com/) apparantly you sweat as much as in Bikram yoga, I'll try and get some pictures and put them up in my next post.
I'll leave you with some humble words of advice from the roaming Aussie himself (me): just because its better value doesn't mean you aways need to get more (this learning byte comes from getting a foot long sub because it was only a dollar extra... regret....much regret)
